THE MILD AND HUMID CLIMATE OF SHANGHAI
The meteorologists classify the climate of Shanghai as a subtropical marine monsoon. In fact the climate is mostly mild and humid, especially in spring and autumn that are the best seasons for traveling to Shanghai.
From mid-September to mid November and April-May there are temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees centigrade. The highest temperature can reach and exceed 35 degrees centigrade, this may happen in July and August (sometimes in June). Near the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival), ie in January-February comes the coldest period, which can be very hard.
Every year in a few days falls about 30% of rain that normally falls throughout the year. The period of heavy rain lasts about a month and usually occurs between mid June and mid July. In the first half of September it is the typhoon season that usually do not arrive in Shanghai, but can bring brief periods of heavy rain with wind.
